Andrea Jeremiah
Andrea Maria Jeremiah, an Indian actress and musician most well known for her roles in Tamil as well as Malayalam films. Annayum, Rasoolum marked her Malayalam as well as Tamil debut. She debuted in Tamil in the film with Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah grew up in a Tamil Nadu Anglo-Indian home. Her father is a Madras High Court lawyer. Her younger sister is a research assistant from Belgium and works in Leuven. Jeremiah was born near Chennai and went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea started the classical piano at eighteen, was described as a "geek" and aspired to be a psychiatric nurse until her 12th grade board exam. At age 10 she was an active member of the group called the Jackson Five Young Stars which formed the foundation of her singing and music composing career. She also worked as a theatre performer in college. She was also one of the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea started her stage career by appearing in Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. Her 2006 role in the new leo Coffee advertisement was in the role of Shiva. She also acted in a television show that was telecast on Podhigai. She has appeared in various shows in a variety of roles across India. She played a minor role for the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). Gautham Menon enlisted Andrea to be the main character following her performance. she performed in the film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Andrea is Kalyani in the film that is a re-imagining of the novel by James Siegel. The husband of the character is involved in an affair with her and is blackmailed by her husband. Andrea was selected for the part after actors Simran Shabana as well as Tabu were offered the role. The film was released in early 2010. Her minor role was accepted in Venkat's Mankatha in 2011 which starred a number of actors. Annayum Rasoolum is a romantic movie directed by Rajeeev Ravi, that was released in 2013, marked the actress's Malayalam debut.
