Ricci was first recognized and received appreciation as a child actor for her role as Wednesday Addams on The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993) and for her performance as Kat Harvey in Casper (1995). Ricci began her transition to roles that were more adult-friendly with The Ice Storm (1997) which was followed by a highly acclaimed role on The Opposite of Sex (1998) in which she was awarded a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Ricci continued to be successful with well-received performance on Sleepy Hollow (1999) and Monster (2003).
